A Arnoia seeks a winner for the second Poster Contest of the XLIII edition of the Festa do Pemento

- The aim is to foster creativity and to make known the festival and the diversity, historical, cultural, ethnographic and scenic richness of the municipality, as well as to spread and promote art.
- There will be a single winner who will receive a prize of €1,200 and the deadline to submit the works is 20 May.
- The Festa do Pemento of A Arnoia will take place from 5 to 7 August.
The Council of A Arnoia confirms the celebration of its XLIII Festa do Pemento with a new edition of its Poster Contest. The countdown begins to find the winner of the poster, who has one month to give shape and image to this festival of Galician tourist interest. Exactly from today until next 20 May. The contest will have a single winner who will receive a cash prize of €1,200. It is aimed at designers, artists and creators residing in Spain, in accordance with the rules that will be posted on the festival’s website. Only one design may be submitted per participant. The poster proposals must be submitted by the authors themselves.
The organisation reserves the right to reclaim the prize amount if at any point after the award it detects a breach of the rules, as well as to reject in advance from the contest any posters that fail to comply with what is stipulated in the rules. As for the theme, it covers everything related to this festival, from the preparations to the celebration itself, as well as the seed. The aim is to foster creativity and to make known the festival and the diversity, historical, cultural, ethnographic and scenic richness of the municipality of A Arnoia, as well as to spread and promote art.
I POSTER CONTEST
In the last edition, the designer Rubén Lucas García was the winner of the poster contest. This Murcian was chosen by the jury, who highlighted that the work by García Lucas perfectly represented the tradition, the feeling and the essence of the Festa do Pemento and its location in A Arnoia. The illustrator took into account in his representation details of the locality such as its clock tower, the church, its characteristic cluster of hórreos, its mineral-medicinal waters and also the wine tradition of this area located in the heart of O Ribeiro.
His work stood out among the 160 proposals that were submitted from the United Kingdom, Italy and the various autonomous communities.
The jury of the last edition was made up of the urban artist, Mon Devane, the photographer, Brais Lorenzo, the illustrator, Xosé Lois González “Carrabouxo”, the president of Markea, Asociación Galega de Marketing and of the Communication Cluster of Galicia, José Luis Reza, and the culture councillor of the Council of A Arnoia, Purificación Domínguez.
FESTA DO PEMENTO OF A ARNOIA 2022
The Festa do Pemento will be celebrated next 5, 6 and 7 August, after two editions during the pandemic.
This year it will recover all its essence with the traditional tasting of the peppers, musical performances and many surprises that will be revealed on the social media of the festival and of the council itself.
