Arnoia already has a poster for the XLIII edition of the Festa do Pemento

The 43rd edition of the Festa do Pemento de Arnoia already has a winning poster that perfectly represents the tradition, the spirit and the essence of this festival, which will take place on 5, 6 and 7 August.

Miguel Ángel García Chaler was chosen as the winner of this 2nd edition of the Poster Contest, which had a jury made up of José Arnoso, CEO of the digital media outlet Turvegal – Turismo Verde de Galicia, Marta Pereira, multidisciplinary artist and graphic designer, and the councillor for culture of the Concello de Arnoia, Purificación Domínguez.

The work titled “Arnoia un paraíso para os sentidos” won over the jury. This time, the €1,200 prize landed very close to the province, since Miguel Ángel García is a native of Ourense who works in graphic design and has his own advertising agency in the province. He has already won other contests, such as the poster for the 57th Feira do Viño do Ribeiro.

The jury members highlighted that Miguel Ángel García’s work perfectly represents the tradition, the spirit and the essence of the Festa do Pemento and its setting in Arnoia.

In his depiction, the illustrator took into account details of the town such as the clock tower, the church, the town hall and also the wine tradition of this area located in the heart of O Ribeiro. And of course, the festival itself could not be missing, with its baskets of peppers and the fryers over the fire to prepare this characteristic delicacy.

His work stood out among the 29 entries submitted from different locations all across Spain.

The aim of this initiative is to foster creativity and to raise awareness of the festival and of the diversity, and the historical, cultural, ethnographic and scenic richness of the municipality of A Arnoia, as well as to spread and promote art.
